This leader of a religious assembly of his day had been brought to the end of himself! His position, his status, nor his ability was able to give him hope!
Read the words: " and when he saw Him (Jesus), he fell at His feet.
Mark 5:22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
As long as we have the slightest possiblility of being able to handle the situation we are in, we will continue to try everything we know to do.
People who are desperate are brought to a humbling place where they aren't intimidated by those around them. They are fearful of no man! They regard not their own lives! They are transported out of the many voices and things that get their attention so easily!
"God allows us to be placed in such situations of desperation with the desire to bring us to a surrendered trust to Him!"
What you are faced with right now isn't a happenstance, it has been allowed to come upon you for a purpose.
It may well have been brought on by your own doing, or by someone else but you can be sure that God knows all about every detail of the cause and why is has come!
"God is working in the hearts of multiple millions of people in this very hour!"
Every person will respond in one of two ways: Either their hearts will be humbled in their time of desperation and look to Christ. Or either they will reject Christ and be hardened in their hearts to the purposes of God!
Mark 5:23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
Jairus was humbled, the Bible says that he besought Jesus greatly!
No longer was his response to Jesus passive! It was with great intense feeling that he besought Jesus!
"When we are truly humbled before God , our feeling toward Jesus doesn't remain passive."
In his hour of confusion, Jairus has the ear of Jesus!
His desperation has brought him to the place of total surrender to the source of his need. He doesn't yet have the manifestation of God's supply but he has totally disregarded himself from getting in the way of Christ coming and putting His hands on his daughter!
Oh! Today if we would learn what God is saying to us. If we are just willing to lay our life down and let the life of Christ live in us!
Mark 5:24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
And Jesus went with him.
If we will get right in our approach to God, Jesus will go with us!
It doesn't matter the greatest of the trouble that you may find yourself in today, Jesus will always respond to a heart that is contrite and when our spirit is broken to do God's will!
No sickness, no disease, no trouble that can pile upon you so high that Christ cannot get to the root of the problem and bring you the answer!
If He's going with you, you must believe!
"Sometimes your need is slow to come, don't lose heart, Jesus is still there!"
Mark 5:25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
For twelve years Jairus' daughter has been the joy of his life. But for a nameless woman in the Bible that is referred to as "a certain woman", for her the same twelve years that has been joy for Jarius, has been years of pain, years of hope in a cure only to be brought to a place of total hopelessness.
The same years bring different circumstances to these people but their time and circumstances are about to meet! Jairus is facing his greatest fear, his daughter is about to die! But on the day his daughter was born, for this certain woman death began to take it's grip upon her. From the day that little girl came into Jairus and his wife lives to be such joy and love, the certain woman's life became hell on earth! Years of sorrow and shattered hopes of getting better was all she had to look for.
"No matter if you are just entering into your trouble or whether you have been battling for years, Christ is a very present help in the time of trouble!"
Mark 5:26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
There are people today that have refused to go back and receive treatment for a medical problem because of the pain was so severe and unbearable.
The Bible says the certain woman suffered (allowed) many things of many physicians! Oh, what things we will allow to be done to us if we think it will work. These things that she allowed cost her everything that she had! And the tragedy of it all was that nothing helped her but rather she became more close to death!
Mark 5:27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
"It's an amazing thing that nobody ever told her about Jesus!"
She was told about all kinds of remedies for her problem.
She was told of every doctor that could treat her problem.
She was given a cost analysis and an itemized bill for her problem.
She suffered many things of many physicians.
"But from the beginning of her sickness to the end there wasn't a word mentioned to her to seek the Lord!"
But thank God it's never to late to tell somebody about the Lord and His delivering power!
But when she heard of Jesus! But when she heard of Jesus! She came, sickness in all, behind the crowd of people and pressed her way into the crowd and touched Jesus!
Mark 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
She said if I may but touch His clothes, I shall be made whole! If I may touch even His clothes, they are righteousness, they are purity, they are healing in His wings!
Mark 5:29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
Her sickness had held her in it's constant and sure grip but immediately, she was healed and delivered!
Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
The certain woman had touched Jesus' clothes by faith and believing!
Mark 5:31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
Out of all the people and the clamour of the day, a certain woman touches Jesus! One woman desperate enough to believe that Christ never fails!
Mark 5:32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
Virtue (power)had been drawn out of Jesus by this desperate woman! Jesus looks around to see her that touched Him!
Mark 5:33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, she came and fell down before Jesus and told Him all the truth.
She knew what was done! She knew it was the Lord's doing!
All the years of searching for help and deliverance was in the past! She had heard of Jesus! She had touched Jesus! She told Him all the truth! She said to Jesus: "I have trusted in man's ability for twelve years but today I trust you, Lord!"
Mark 5:34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Jesus said: "Thy faith has made you whole, go in peace and stay healed of this sickness!"
Mark 5:35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
"The Devil will always try to put a damper on a testimony service that is giving God the glory."
Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
When we are truly humbled before the Lord, He will help us believe Him.
Jesus says to you today that have been humbled before Him by circumstances, "Be not afraid, only believe!"
Mark 5:37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
Jesus continues to follow a humbled Jairus.
Mark 5:38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
Jesus will go all the way to your house when you have been humbled before Him!
Mar 5:39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
Death to Jesus is like sleep, He can wake them up!
Mark 5:40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
Religious actors can quickly become scorners and scoffers!
Jesus puts the pretenders and proud out of His presence! He will again one day put the pretenders and the proud out of His presence! Are you a pretender? Are you proud of yourself? Jesus will put you out if you are!
Mark 5:41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
"He takes Jairus' daughter by the hand and speaks a command for her to arise!"
Mark 5:42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
Immediately the daughter arises just like Jesus said!
That death that hold us is like sleep to Jesus! It's is real and makes us desperate!
But are we desperate enough to believe Christ never fails?
Mark 5:43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
Why did Jesus tell them to tell no man?
Why should they have to tell anybody? Their daughter is not dead!
She's alive! Give her something to eat! She's a living, growing daughter!
"Why should we as Christians have to tell anybody when Christ Jesus is living in us!"
Our life should speak loudly that Christ is living in us!
We must be desperate enough to believe Christ never fails!
Hear this today! Jesus is alive! He will come to you in your time of desperation if you will come to Him.
He can be touched by a single person in a great crowd of people that aren't desiring to really touch Him!
Touch Christ today by faith, He will touch you and make you whole! A-men!
